We are constantly working to make your Pixel Mug P1 experience better, smoother, and more fun. Today, we’re thrilled to announce the rollout of our latest OTA firmware update (Version 00.04.0155)!

Based on your feedback, we’ve completely overhauled the setup process, added exciting new media features, and squashed some pesky bugs. To help you get the most out of this release, we’ve broken down everything you need to know into two simple parts: what's new, and what you need to do to get it.

🚀 What’s New in Update v00.04.0155

1. Network Connection Optimization

We know that connecting smart devices should be effortless. In this update, we’ve made network connectivity our top priority to ensure a frustration-free experience:

• Real-Time Wi-Fi Scanning: No more guessing or manually typing network names. When you click "Select Wi-Fi" in the app, the system now actively scans and reports nearby networks in real-time. Just wait a few seconds, pick your Wi-Fi from the list, and you're seamlessly connected.
• Optimized Network Pairing: We have completely simplified the pairing process. By streamlining the background logic to focus solely on the binding phase, connecting your Pixel Mug to the app is now incredibly fast and stable.

2. Other Exciting Updates

Beyond network improvements, we’ve added several highly requested quality-of-life features and underlying optimizations:

• Enhanced Security: We’ve upgraded our underlying authentication protocols to ensure your device connection and personal data remain completely safe and secure.
• GIF Freezing Issue Fixed & Stability Improvements: We resolved a frustrating bug where playing certain formats of GIF files would cause the screen to freeze. Alongside this, we’ve continuously addressed minor background bugs to significantly improve the overall stability of the device.
• Pinpoint Time Accuracy: We’ve optimized the time synchronization strategy to ensure the clock displayed on your mug is perfectly synced and highly precise than ever before.
• Cross-Device GIF Playback: Level up your animations! By using the Unfold bot within the Bubble App, you can now project a continuous 64x32 long GIF across two Pixel Mugs side-by-side, unlocking a completely new and immersive way to display your pixel art.

⚠️ What You Need to Do for a Successful OTA Update

Ready to enjoy the new features? Updating your smart mug is simple. To ensure a smooth OTA (Over-The-Air) update, please follow these steps:

1. Keep it Connected
   Make sure your Pixel Mug is powered on, functioning normally, and connected to a stable Wi-Fi network throughout the entire process.
2. Use PixelMug App (Recommended – Automatic Update)
   For the best experience, we highly recommend using the PixelMug App.
   No manual action is required—once your mug is connected to Wi-Fi, the update will download and install automatically. Your mug will restart on its own to complete the process.
3. For Bubble App Users (Manual Update)
   If you are using the Bubble App, open the app and tap on your device card. Navigate to the OTA section and manually start the upgrade.
4. Verify the Update
   After the restart, go to your app settings and check the device version. If it shows 00.04.0155, your update was successful.
